CTC Cookie Manager – Privacy Policy
1. Overview
CTC Cookie Manager (the “Extension”) is a browser extension that helps users automatically share authentication cookies from a broker portal with their own web application (for example, a React app), so they do not need to copy and paste cookies manually.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension processes, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the Extension, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information the Extension Processes
The Extension primarily works with authentication‑related data that already exists in your browser. It does not collect general browsing history, keystrokes, or page contents.
2.1 Authentication information (cookies)
When you log in to your broker portal, the site sets authentication cookies in your browser. The Extension:
- Reads a small set of authentication cookies from the configured broker domain.
- Builds a cookie string from those values.
- Optionally sends that cookie string to your own web application for use in authenticated requests.
2.2 Extension status data
To provide a better user experience, the Extension may store the following data in your browser’s extension storage:
- The most recent cookie string captured from the broker portal.
- The number of cookies captured.
- The timestamp of the last successful update.
- Minimal status flags (for example, whether a notification has already been shown).
2.3 Data the Extension does not collect
The Extension is not designed to collect or store:
- Names, email addresses, physical addresses, or other personal profile data.
- Payment or financial information.
- Health information.
- General browsing history across websites.
- Page content, keystrokes, chat messages, or personal communications.
3. How Information Is Used
The Extension uses authentication cookies and status data solely to:
- Keep your own web application authenticated with the broker portal.
- Display status information in the popup (such as cookie count and last updated time).
- Optionally show a notification when cookies are captured or refreshed.
The Extension does not use this data for advertising, profiling, or analytics unrelated to the core functionality.
4. Data Sharing and Transfers
Authentication cookies and status data are processed locally in your browser. The Extension may transmit the cookie string only to:
- Your own web application running on domains you configure (for example, localhost or your production app domain).
We do not sell user data and do not share it with third‑party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
5. Data Retention and Control
Authentication data and status information are kept only in your browser’s extension storage for as long as they are needed to support the Extension’s functionality. You can:
- Remove all stored data by uninstalling the Extension.
- Clear extension data using your browser’s “Clear browsing data” tools.
- Log out of the broker portal, which may invalidate the underlying cookies.
6. Security
The Extension relies on the security model of the browser’s extension platform to protect stored data. It does not execute remote code and does not load executable scripts from external servers at runtime. As with any browser extension, you should only install it from trusted sources and keep your browser up to date.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is intended for professional and business use and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Extension or applicable laws. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
